Abstracts


SUBMISSION RULES FOR SCIENTIFIC WORK

The works must be submitted in English and sent as Summary, which will be analyzed by a scientific committee on the format and content. There won’t be any acceptance for abstracts without evident results.

The works must be sent online (www.sinpospq.org) after payment of registration. The works must be in conformity with the rules specified in “RULES FOR SUMMARIES”.

Authors will be notified by e-mail and by symposium homepage about the situation of works until September 29, 2008.
The abstracts should be submitted by 22/08/2008.

  

RULES FOR SUMMARIES

The compilation of the works should follow the specifications below:

The summaries should be written in English in a clear and objective way including: title, author, the institution of origin, introduction, goals, methods, results, conclusion (final or partial) and 1-5 keywords.

The summary should be prepared in Word editor for Windows version 6.0 or later and submit the following format: A4, font Times New Roman, size 10, spacing simple, with all 30 mm margins, justified text, using italics in the scientific names.

The summary should have 200-500 words (from introduction to conclusion). The limit of space must not be exceeded. Very short ones will not be accepted.

The title should be clear, objective and consistent with text. It should be written in capital letters and boldfaced type.

A blank line should be left between the title and the authors' data (name and institution). The authors’ names must be spelled out, in capital letters, followed by the index number in parentheses, NOT superscript and identifying their institutions.  The names of authors who will present the work should be underline and their e-mail should be right in front of their names.

The text should be a single paragraph and should not contain pictures, graphs or tables. There should be no citations to other work, but in case they are essential, they should come into parentheses and abbreviated (periodic, volume, initial page and year) immediately after the citation. “Acknowledgements” or “Financing Institutions” are optional and should be in parentheses at the end of the text.
The submission of research projects won’t be allowed.

Each participant can submit only 1 (one) work (summary) in the event.

 

RULES FOR POSTER PRESENTATION

The size of the poster should be 1.00 to 1.50m (height) and 0.90m width.

The title should be the same used in the abstract, written in capital letters, possible to be read at least 3 meters away.

Authors´ names (1- 6 authors), institution and keywords (1-5 keywords) should be below the title in smaller letters.

The author’s name who will present the work should be underlined.

The poster should show: introduction, objective, methodology, results, and conclusion.

It should be done with little text (it is suggested Arial font, size 28) and many illustrations (pictures, diagrams and tables).

Language: English.

All the arrangements and aesthetics are free and the authors’ responsibilities.
According to official program the duration of exposure will be (1) one hour and 30 minutes. One of the authors must be available for any clarification about their work.

 

 

Recommendations:

The text of the poster should be read at 3 meters of distance. We suggest the use of large letters (8mm for text and 15mm for titles and subtitles, at least).

The text should be brief, clear and objective.

The text should not occupy a large space in the poster. Experimental results should be shown with illustrations (photos, graphs and tables).

References should not be included in the poster. There should not be citations.

The poster components should be organized into logical sequence to facilitate their understanding.

Each participant should bring material to fix the poster.
